I like spiders. They create beautiful works of art every day and are, themselves, varied and
interesting. They have inspired creation stories and folk myth in many cultures. In
superstition, they are invariably the bringers of good fortune. The Navajo in particular have
revered Spider Woman and one of her stories drove home to me a personal valuable lesson.
