From the Gentrification Series: Much is lost when neighborhoods change in a way that increases the human

population density and foremost is the mature trees. And with the trees go the birds. A bird returns

with a twig, confused. The model for this bird was the fence post top from a time when things like this

adorned the posts and gates of people's fences when there were yards.
